The value of a fader is shown as 0% to 100%.
Where can I change this to 0-255 like in DL4?
Greetings,
Michael
Change 0%-100% to 0-255
Re: Change 0%-100% to 0-255
Hi Michael,
In Daslight 5, there are 2 different types of fader that can be used for fixture control- 'Features' and 'Faders'.
Features, as you rightly pointed out, run from 0-100%. The reason for this is that they are not based on DMX value, but a relative value depending on the selected fixture preset. For example, if your fixture has multiple strobe presets- the fader will control the relative value between the min/max range of the selected preset. For example:
A fixture has the Strobe channel in this format:
0-5 - Closed
6-10 - Open
11-100 - Strobe slow-fast
101-200 - Random strobe slow-fast
201-255 - Flash slow-fast
Now in features- you can select one of the options, then control the variable value from the min value to the max value of the selected preset (i.e. select 'Strobe slow-fast', then the 0-100% slider controls a relative value from 11-100).
Faders can be found at the bottom of the 'Features' list (i.e. underneath Beam, Focus, then Other...). These represent a more traditional fader board, with all faders running from the exact value 0-255. You can still select a specific fixture preset here by right clicking on the channel fader image, then select the desired preset.
Hope this helps and makes sense!
Kind regards,
Will
