Midi mapping issues

Post by MusicMasters »

I have been using Daslight4 for a few years with an Midicon Pro and recently switched to daslight 5. I am having an issue with being able to turn the shutters of a fixture group on and off with a single midi button. On DL4 you could assign note on/off to a toggle midi button but I’m not seeing it in DL5 the note on/off option is not available. I’ve also played around trying to midi map the beam on and off buttons to the same midi key to try to make them toggle back and fourth with no luck. Any advice on this? I have over 10 fixture groups and I busk all my scenes and it makes it so much easier when I can just turn on and off the shutters for each fixture group based on if I want to use those fixtures in a scene or not. The first daslight tutorial came out a year ago and have yet to see any new tutorials on anything daslight5. I have shows coming up this fall/winter and would really like to get this new daslight5 going sooner than later.

To solve this, you can try using third-party software like Bome MIDI Translator Pro to create on/off commands for MIDI buttons or configure Midi-OX to convert a single-press signal into two commands.

I think I figured it out somehow in the transition from 4 to 5 the shutters got saved to a lot of different scenes and they were not showing up in the scene but I think I fixed it
