I'd like to make a fade in to colour-effect-scene (rainbow-effect). So that the dimmer starts soft.
I tried the option "Fade in" in the effect rack but it didn't work...

Hi Tim,
The Fade In and Fade Out settings only work whilst you are in the Live playback mode, not in the Edit playback mode. The reason for this is that when in Edit mode, the fixtures are always in a 'preview' state since the goal is to 'edit' the scene. Therefore, fading in is not always appropriate for previewing a scene (for example- if you have a 1 minute fade in, it would take a minute before you could actually 'preview' what the scene is doing, which is not helpful for editing).
If you enable the 'Live' mode, you should then be able to visualise the fade correctly.
