Feature request: automatic dvc file backup

The software should save existing dvc files to a backup version before overwriting the existing one. Make it optional but on by default and only keep the last N backups.

Thanks for the post- we have had this feature suggested before and it has been looked into, however currently there are no plans for implementing at the moment since there are a number of issues that can arise especially when scenes are playing (i.e causing the software to hang briefly when the auto save kicks in if the project is large, which is problematic since this is a live control software). It will be looked into more in the future I am sure, but as of now- there is no guarantees as to if/when it will be implemented.
