BPM is Beats Per Minute and I am sure you know that.

To start music synchronisation use the "bpm" icon on the tool bar.
You will see the following appear, it is called "Audio Analysis",

If you know the BPM for a song then use the"Manual" option and set the BPM accordingly.

You can use Tap SYnc by using the "Learning" option and pressing the button 4 times (or F5) to the beat of the music.

The other option is "Analysis" where it will analyse the incoming single and work out the BPM for you. You can further adjust its settings using the "AUTO" buttons below the detection slider and the other below the input signal. If you press them it turns into manual mode where you can adjust where you want to detect the signal and how strong the signal is from the input source.

Once you have decided on the method to trigger, you will then need to right click on a scene button in "Live" and you will then see the following context menu.
Image

The "BPM on step" means when it receives a trigger signal it will jump to the next step, "BPM with fade" is the same but fades between steps, and "BPM on scene" means when it get a trigger it jumps to the next scene in the current group.
So if you have a chase with lots of steps and you want it to step through on the music beat then select teh relevant menu option and have the "Audio Anlysis" running at the same time. Now when you run that scene it will trigger with the music.

Hope that helps,
Andre

Hello

Thank you for this information, I a little better understood and I managed to synchronize my bass of synthe with the light but I find that there is one hyper sensibility of the audio reception and the interferences tend to come to disrupt(perturb) my programe light and to come from time to time to activate(start) a light too. How may I make to settle(adjust) the sensibility of the reception of sounds?
Thank you for your answer

on the picture above of the BPM program window there are 2 round controls (Knobs). If you click the auto button below these become manual. Then you can set the sound level accurately.

Thank you I tried, effectively it lowers(dims) the level of the sound but even when I fall completely at least, my ordi recoit still sounds and the audio BPM works and analyzes as if he received a music!!! He(it) should react only to my bass of synth but not he(it) reacts to my bass + other thing(matter) and I do not really know what!!!!! Is it necessary perhaps to make a regulation on the computer? Thank you still for your answer Cordially

There is a ini file that you could change the frequencies.
It is in "Daslight Virtual Controller" folder and is called SLMM.INI

or you could get a filter so you only get the Bass rresponse

or you could use a mixing desk to get only the bass from that.

Thank you for the praise, I try my best and I do not know everything about DVC2, still find things hidden away every now and then. Usually because of someone like you asking a specific question and it make me want to try and find an answer for the benifit of all.

BPM audio

I also have the problem that the audio analyzer shows strong signals even when nothing is playing. This constant noise with a BPM around 130-150 cannibalizes all other sound effects.

The noise is also present when I change to another soundcard, eg. Traktor DJ external.

I have tried Stereomix and Monausgang.

Any help?

Yep I get that all the time if using my desktop, it picks up every sound my computer makes, fans whirring even me hitting the computer ... lol
On my desktop even with a mic it is far to sensitive even turned all the way down but is better than my desktop. Windows XP and a Creative SB X-Fi.
On my laptop, Vista not sure what sound card, I sometimes run a line-in from the mixing desk so I only get the kick drum, that seems ok and works sweet enough, still too sensitive, otherwise I use it's built in mic and again it is too sensitive but does only pick up stuff that the mic can hear so works OKish, no real beat detection as far to much going on from the band to be able to do that.

Do I can use any input (recording) source for Daslight? Just select the source in the MS sound control? With the microphone it would then work like all cheap microphone-based sound-controlled blink blink lights?
