Hello. I'm trying to patch a matrix of a few Showtec Led Light Bars but the software is not quite behaving like it should!
For example, if you want to make an 8x8 matrix you will only need 8 Light bars because they are all divided in 8 parts, so it would make 64 'pixels'. The correct mode on the Led Light Bars is mode 4, in that mode you have the possibility to control each segment of the multibeam fixture.
If I try to patch everything the software wants give every 'pixel' a fixture with 26 channels. I think I made the patch correct, but this could be a bug. Could you guys please fix this before the 27th of October? I really need this feature.
Thanks in advance

If you want to patch an 8x8 RGB matrix, you need to choose the generic "RGB" fixture, and then patch as an 8x8 matrix. (and of course make sure the lights are in the right mode via the menu on the fixture).
To explain: You want to control each RGB section of the bar individually, so you need to patch each section as simply "RGB". When you use the actual fixture profile in mode 4 (26 channel), then patch as an 8x8 matrix, you are patching 64, 26 channel "pixels", which as you know, will not work, since in reality each section is only 3 channels (RGB).
Hope that makes sense. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

This is how I would do it.
I made a simple profile for just Strobe (ch 1) and Dim (ch 2). Then I went in and patched 8 of those, One at the end of each 8 RGB section of the matrix (shown in pic 1). You have to do some moving around in the patch bay, but it's not too bad.
Your matrix and your strobe/dim will be in separate fixture tabs (shown in pic 2), but that shouldn't cause any problems.
