Midi behaviour when recording effects

Post by BigchainEvents »

I am trying to save several effects like color, positions etc pallets. The problem is when i choose to record all live faders, it will record also channels that are somewhat enabled (ltp or midi for ex) even if their value is 0. Thisi s kind of annoying because i would like to control some functions live via midi but i must turn them off otherwise it messes my effect.
for example i want to record an effect that is a position from a moving head. I must open shutter and dimmer to see where i am pointing at, i control this via midi. Then i need to turn off shutter and dimmer channels loosing my midi mapping.
I pretty much like to have colors, gobos effects, positions assigned and then mix them together live. In order to make programing and adjustings faster would be great if 0 value faders even if they are midi would not count for effect recording. Or if i turn off a midi channel we van turn it on without loosing the midi mapping.

...this seems to be very similar to the problems reported under "switching between programs turns other fixtures off".

I think this issue is highly serious and needs to be resolved with high urgency since it cannibalises all shows. There is a new DVC3 beta (!??) for download. I am busy tonight so I cannot test - perhaps somebody else.
