Bug Report - starting ERA --> Daslight crashes

Post by Hotade »

Hello Daslight team
if you put all RGBs in a project in one or more subfolders and start ERA now, create a color wheel and add a couple RGBs, it will not be possible. When you now exit ERA Daslight crashed.

Tested with Generic -> RGB, Lightmaxx -> Tri Short Bar 2 - Fixtures.
should happen with any other fixture with RGBs, too.
Latest Virtual Controller 3 (27. Jul 12)
Win 7 - 64-Bit

I have one other question, it is possible to have an FX-effect on all four RGBs of one fixture? Currently, only the last of each RGB fixtures is controlled.

Thanks Nils

The first bug is already reported. If you gonna test this with a new show, it will work then, or not?

You can patch 4 RGB fixtures seperatly, so you can control the units on your fixture as 4 different lights... Now you can make a FX-effect if you select all of the 4 fixtures

BTW, Simon, can you see the quote window, i can't see it

Hey nijst001,
Thank you for your answer.
No it will not work, maybe you can even reproduce it, as I have described.
When all are in a subfolder, then Daslight crashes when creating a color-wheel. Are they not in subfolders, then it works.
I have tested it with different RGBs. And I've always created a new show and have already installed the software once again. I've also tested it on my laptop. But it is always the same.

Okay, I was hoping there is a way without this trick.

Got it thanks, it will be fixed in the next version

This should work fine with a 4 beam fixture in DVC3, as long as the beams have been correctly assigned in the fixture profile.

You had BBCode disabled. You need to uncheck the box 'Disable BBCode in the post' underneath the text edit area

Okey maybe they not correct assigned in the fixture profile.
How can I correct TriShortBar2.ssl2 fixture with the editor that it will work correctly?
I have looked at the fixture in the editor and could find no fault. Each RGB has assigned its own lightbeam.

Thank you for your help.

Edit: I use Mode 4 ;-)

Now i've tested te fixture but i can control only the first 3 RGB Groups

The problem must be in the fixture but i can't find
With another fixture: without problems

Now i recommed another bug. The FX on the left side of the DMX channels works fine, but the FX in the toolbar allows you to control only the last RGB of a multibeam

Thanks for this good tip! :-)
I will use the left FX-button until the bug is fixed.

EDIT: I think the FX-generator seems to be a little buggy, too.
When I use the left FX button, the first three beams are controlled by the FX generator. If I use the upper button, the last beams are controlled.

Hello nijst001.
you're right it's not affected each fixture.

I have a bit of testing with the scanning Libary editor and I think that I could find out what causes this bug.
It only works properly if not more than two channels come before the RGBs. Correct me please if you find a fixture where it works with more than two channels!?

@ Daslight - Summarize FX - Bug Report:
1: The Fx button at the top never works correctly with multi-beam. only the last beam is controlled.
2: The left-FX button only works properly if not more than two channels come before the RGBs.

Test Fixtures (Created with latest version 27. Jul 2012):

Fixture 1:
1.Mode, 2.Dimmer, 3 Shutter, RGB 4-6, 7-9, RGB, RGB 10-12, 13-15 RGB
-> only the first three beams are controlled.

Fixture 2:
1.Mode, 2nd Dimmer, 3-5 RGB, 6-8 RGB, RGB 9-11, 12-14 RGB
-> everything works fine

Fixture 3:
1.Mode, 2nd Free, 3 Dimmer, 4 Shutter, 5-7 RGB, 8-10 RGB, RGB 11-13, 14-16 RGB
-> Nothing is working properly.
-> I could not recognize system in Rainbow Effect.
-> Knight Rider-effect controls only the last three beams
