Hi all , we are revamping our show and I wish to make shutters react to sound. Imagine we will rock you with the clapping intro.
I want to use the bpm function to open the shutter and then immidiately close it on the beat.
manually this is easy with a shortcut key to an effect button in flash mode. (done this before)
Best I can acheive is set up two scenes with next auto and prev auto. first scene with bpm on step activated . the first step is shutters closed with .04 sec hold time. second scene is shutters open with, and here´s the problem 0.04 sec but if the note is longer this cannot be varied, as in
we will rock you, ie flash, flash, long flash.
Any ideas greatfully appreciated.

Can't you make both scenes BPM on Scene and on the 2nd scene make the hold time for much longer, so when it gets it's beat it will then return to first scene.
Just a thought, I do not know if this will work as I do not use the BPM function even though I am considering it for certain portions of certain songs, it would make my life easier especially if I take the kick drum feed from the mixing desk.

I have tried that, unfortunately did´nt work.
I can create a chase effectively, the chase flows with the beat.
but getting a shutter to operate sound to light is a different matter.
the program does not seem to operate quick enough. as the minimum hold time is not variable according to the bpm. that would be the ideal situation.
I know the heads can do it, certainly on other controllers this is possible, I just think I need a fresh set of eyes on the problem to see if it is possible to come up with another way of doing this.
