Hi!
I looked at the tutorial and still can't figure out how to sync to music like the YouTube clip.
Any good tutorial on that?

When you say sync i think you are looking for something that will make your scenes move according to the speed of the music or the beat right?
There is a audio analyzer that analyzes the music and runs your scenes in the befitting speed...according to me its working more than fairly well:)
If you are trying out the demo version...klick on the small button which says bpm close to the 3d and fictures button...after that you go into the live tab and right click on one of your scenes....choose bpm on step or bpm with fade(also bpm at step but with the fade activated)

I don't think it will sync with Youtube or other movie clips, unless you can divert the sound to the in port of your sound card, because that is what it is looking for.
Try playing a CD and have a microphone connected and I bet that will work. If it does then you can send the output from a CD player to the in of your sound card.

How should I setup my computer to get the right signal?
Isn't it pretty stupid to not listen to the sound that is played?

It's not silly really because most lighting applications would not use the sound from a PC anyway as the music would most probably come from another source. Unless of course you are doing a "home" disco then maybe it would make sense.
If it is something that most users would like then maybe it should be made as a request to Daslight. I personally can think of many more things that need to get sorted in DVC2 before they work on that.
See my answer in the following post as well.

I know that mainly you don't send the sound from a computer but in some cases you do send the sound from a computer.
I send music from a DJ software there I mix my music and it would be really nice to use that sound instead of rewiring my computer etc.
And it can't be that hard to put an option in the software to use internal sound or listen to a specific application to avoid sound from other applications.
The most critical update that I really need is drivers for Vista x64 as I don't have any computer besides my laptop that runs an 32-bits OS.

i guess we users should hold together, when there is no help from the daslight team...
if you have windows vista you can make your computer listen to the main stereo mix. to do this go in the sound menue and select recording, in vista the selection for the main mix is usualy hidden, to active it click on a empty place at the selection of the input and activate "show deactivated devices" a device "stereo mix" will appear, activate it and set it as standard and u will get at least a better quality of input.
i would like to see a sycronisation method with tractor, would be really usefull.
