Multiple Scenes

Post by Matteo1310 »

Hi,
I'm Matteo from Italy and this is my first post.
I have just bought one DVC2 Gold + Virtual Controller 2.

I have a simple question:

How can I play contemporarily multiple scenes (2 or more) on "Live Mode" pushing just one button or with one mouse-click?

Thanks

:D

Answer: you can't. Flip knows why not, you can trigger multiple scenes from a single keyboard key or MIDI event! A scene should be able to trigger any number of scenes, not just jump to a next one. How it would make life so much easier.

I know, I'll write a new front end that CAN do this using the Daslight Remote Controll DLL!... Oh hold on, that's so broken, even their example code won't run properly. And their tech support have given up on me after one try. Now THAT's customer service! :roll:

Totally agree with you there smokeAndMirrors, definately need a way of triggering multiple scenes with just one mouse click.

Even jumps from one scene to another does not work properly.

I have also asked for a proper scripting method of creating a list of scenes to be run and if they should be run simultaneously or solo.

Yeah not much happening on the support side of things :(

thanks for the kind answer.

Using this method:

"you can multiple trigger scenes from to single keyboard key"

Something like:
I create with FX generator a scene for 4 mobile heads;
I create with FX generator another scene for 4 scanners;
I create with FX generator another scene for 8 led par;
etc.
and then I assign the same button to all the scenes.
Pressing this button in live mode all the 3 scenes they contemporarily begin.

Have you ever had problems using this way? Is it a reliable way?

Yeah it's reliable, I use it all the time as it's the only way to launch multiple scenes at once.

I have only had it fail once on me and to be honest DVC2 was doing some very strange things that night and after it crashed and I restarted everyting was fine. So I think it was just a glitch as it has not happened since.
