Fade Out Timer Overrides Running Scenes

Post by mikeD »

First of all, thanks to the Daslight crew for adding Fade In/Fade Out timers. That is a really great feature for easing into scenes with action in them.

I am having an issue with the Fade Out timer though. I have an initializer scene that is always running so transitions are smooth and things like shutter faders/focus don't get overlooked. What I have noticed is that when I turn a scene off with no other scene on besides my initializer, the Fade Out will zero out every channel, even the ones the initializer is controlling.

Is there a way to make sure the initializer takes priority to where the fade out sends the lights (specifically moving head pan/tilt and shutters) to the position on the latest running scene?

If not, can I request this feature change?

Quick note: This fade out does not happen when I move to the next scene, only when fading to initializer.

Update: After messing around with the fade out timer, I discovered that this happens ANYTIME I fade out a scene without another scene fading up.

Example: I have Scene A running. I turn Scene B on and leave Scene A running. Scene B fades up smoothly. Leaving Scene A running, I turn Scene B off. Scene B zeroes out all parameters it controls. Once the fade out sequence is complete, all lights abruptly return to Scene A's settings.

Hi Mike

It's quite difficult to understand your post without knowing the scene release modes and channels used in the scenes. Could you make me an example file with 2 scenes and a couple of single channel fixtures?

Thanks
