I currently use Daslight 5 in one of our nightclubs. I like working with Daslight but I see some things I would like to have/improve. Also, I am probably going to open one more nightclub with a bigger lightning rig in a few months, and need to decide if I am going with Daslight 5 or to learn Onyx / Onyx Manager instead.
First off:
Is there any information or news on when there will be a bigger update to Daslight? Could it be considered to have a public roadmap or a feature portal where we can vote on what we want so it would be easier for you to see what features to prioritize in new releases?
Features I would like to have:
Rename a Daslight instance in the remote app
I have some clubs that share internet and it would be nice then if I could change the name in the remote app to that venue´s name.
Password protect
Also in the app, it would be nice if there was a password or lock that I can set on a session. The network is separated but this would give even more protection.
Audio input improvements (BIGGEST!)
Would be nice with a better audio input mechanism to set the BPM. Right now if I use the audio input it just goes all over the place. I wanna use this to sync for example dimmer effects with my moving heads and also in the future LED bars with pixel control. Maybe also audio effects then could be implemented. For example, the new Stairville Sonicpulse effects look really cool. To have both calm and high-energy effects. More training content (BIG!)
I have for example never been able to create a proper dimmer effect that goes with the BPM
Also for example how to best replace a fixture. For example, I have one venue with some really bad moving heads that we are going to replace now one after the other when they fail. But what would be the best way to do this so I don´t have to rebuild my whole show every time this happens? Mainly I am thinking of FX-like movement and dimmer effects here. Also, I have never got a Super Scene to sync music and scenes (For example dimmer effects).
Background image
It would be nice if I could upload a custom background image to the touch views.
More tamper proof?
Now I sometimes see that people get out of touch mode by accident and they sometimes lose the full screen and drag the touch view out of the application. Could there be a way to make it even better for installation?
Lastly, I really love Daslight and have been growing up designing lights for clubs in Sunlite Suite 2 but I also see that most of our other venues now use Lightjockey / Onyx and I don´t want to learn that
Better if I in the future can replace it with Daslight
