I am missing something here simple I'm sure of it. Can someone please tell me how to assign either 1 or a group of fixtures to the XY grid on the touch control screen. I can make the pretty XY grid box but the process to assign it to a fixtures movement I'm missing.
Thanks for your help

Re: XY Grid for Touch Control Help!
Hello. Have you tried this:
Excerpt from the operating instructions:
Mapping functions to a control
The quickest way to assign a function (i.e. Dimmer channel, Scene play, Pan/Tilt grid etc.) is to
locate the function you want to control in the Touch screen, then hold “Alt” (Windows) or “Option”
(Mac) and left click the function. This will automatically assign a control to the Touch screen with
the function assigned to it.
If you want to manually assign a function to a pre-existing control, you must first select the ‘Touch
Mappings’ button, revealing a green overlay onto all mappable functions. Once you have selected
the desired button/fader/dial, a dotted line will then appear highlighting the function. Next, you can
simply activate the Touch control to map the function to the control.
You can adjust the settings of an individual mapping by selecting the mapping from within the
Touch Mappings list. For example- you may want to set the range of a fader when controlled from
the Touch screen.
If you want a single feature (i.e. a Dimmer fader, a Scene button etc.) to be assigned to multiple
Touch controls- you can do this by: opening Touch Mappings, right clicking on the green overlay of
the desired function, pressing ‘Duplicate’. You should now see a new mapping in the list. You can
then select this and assign it to the desired control by activating the control in the Touch screen.
You can have up to 10 Touch mappings assigned to a software feature.

Re: XY Grid for Touch Control Help!
Hello,
The advice above is all accurate- and I would recommend checkout out the user manual to see the accompanying images which as also helpful.
The absolute quickest way of doing this however, is to select all fixtures that you want to attach to an XY grid, then hold Alt and select the Pan/Tilt grid from the Position tab. This will automatically create a pre-linked XY Grid in the Touch screen.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: XY Grid for Touch Control Help!
Is it possible to fix limits of movement in this XY grid in touch control?
I use an horizontal fader for pan, and I am able to control the limits, but with XY grid, I cant.

Hello,
I am not 100% sure I understand what you are referring to here, would you please be able to confirm some more specific information of how we can reproduce this behaviour? Or perhaps show us a video demonstrating the problem? You can attach any supporting files to this thread via Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer (etc.) download link.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: XY Grid for Touch Control Help!
Hello Will
I use an horizontal fader to control the pan of a group of moving heads (and other vertical fader to control the tilt of this group).
I configure the moving heads without any limit in the setup.
I have configured these fader to control the movements of this group but in a concrete area (not the full 540º and 180º).
Is it possible to use a XY grid and limit the max and min for X and Y instead of two faders?

Sorry, I'm still not 100% sure I understand this well enough to give any specific advice... Perhaps seeing a video demonstration and the .dvc file would help me to understand if possible?

Will

Hello Will.
Check these pics.
I have limited the movements of pan and tilt in the tocuh mapping settings.
Thanks in advanced

Re: XY Grid for Touch Control Help!
Ah, I understand now- thanks for sending that over! Unfortunately I do not believe this is possible to do currently. The limitations of the XY grid are only based on the ones set in the Setup screen, but I think this would be a great feature- so I have added it to our future ideas list for consideration in future updates. I can not make any guarantees on if or when this would be implemented, but it will definitely be considered going forwards!

Will
