Is there a way to assign a button of a midi controller to increment or decrement the value of a fader by a step size? Preferably the step-size would be a variable and controllable value that can be assigned to another button or fader.
Scenario:
I have a midi controller with an "infinite" rotary encoder which I want to control the step-size (accuracy) for the increment and decrement buttons.
When I press the increment-button, the value of the step-size gets added to the current value of the assigned fader/slider.
When I press the decrement-button, the value of the step-size gets subtracted from the current value of the assigned fader/slider.
Assign slider/fader to button with increment value by step
Re: Assign slider/fader to button with increment value by step
Hello,
Thanks for raising this topic! It's a really interesting idea, but unfortunately is not something that will be possible for Daslight 5. Essentially this would involve performing MIDI mappings within MIDI mappings, which poses some potential technical and workflow issues (e.g. infinite feedback loops). I will note it down as a potential feature suggestion, but I am afraid that with the way Daslight 5 is created- this may not be possible to do in this iteration of the software.
Kind regards,
Will
