Hello,
I want to make a knight Rider Effekt at my 8 Beam Moving heads but only the Beam should light up, where currently the Knight rider effect is active.
For example
1st
Moving Head 1 shutter is open and knight rider effect is acitve with color red
Rest of Heads shutter is closed
2nd
Moving Head 2 shutter is open and knight rider effect is acitve with color red
Rest of Heads shutter is closed
How can i manage this, without attaching the dimmer? Because there is no way to add the shutter to an Value FX
How to make a Knight Rider Effect with only selcted beams on

Hello,
Unfortunately it is only possible to add 'linear' presets to an FX engine, so it would not be possible to add this to a Chaser FX scene. My recommendation would be to use a Steps scene, then program each step to turn on/off the Shutter channel for each fixture in order.
Kind regards,
Will

Re: How to make a Knight Rider Effect with only selcted beams on
The Steps scene cannot coexist in the same scene as a Color FX though, right? So the approach suggested by willm would require two scenes (one for the Knight Rider Color FX and one for the Steps to manage the shutters) to be running simultaneously. This would work great if they were combined in a superscene, but may be difficult to use in a standard scene.
If I were trying to do something like this, I would just use a "custom" value FX that steps between 0% and 100% and attach it to the generic dimmer (in the "DIMMER" tab of the edit view) for the moving head fixtures in question. UNITevents -- can you explain why this approach would not work for you? I ask because there may be work-arounds for whatever other issues this creates in your situation.

It is true that the Steps scene cannot be used in an effect rack i.e. with a Colour FX scene, in which case yes- you would likely want to stack two scenes within a Super Scene (and perhaps hide the bank that hosts the Steps scene once you are done, this way it will not appear taking up space in your Control screen).
One alternative solution further to the solution offered by Markov would be to create your Colour FX scene, then press the 'Convert to steps button' to create this effect as a list of steps (perhaps it is best to duplicate the scene before doing this to avoid any potential issues). Once the Colour effect is converted to steps, you can compress the steps to a lower number that is more manageable, then begin editing the Shutter channel for each step in order to create your Chaser.
Kind regards,
Will
