New Fader Dimmer Page

Post by HEKKTIK.music »

Hi everyone,

I really like the new Feature to Programm automatically Color Mappings.

But that's only works when there is a separate Dimmer Fader in the Dimmer Page to map the FX.

That's no Problem for many fixtures but there are still some Fixtures with two different types of Light.

For Example my Light4Me Thunder RGB Strobe. It has some LED Panels and one Strobe section.

When I like to use the FX than I can only use all lights of The Fixture and not only the LED Panels.

Some ssl Fixture have more than one Dimmer on the Dimmer Page but not my Thunder Strobe :? .

Is there any way to create a Second virtual Fader on the "Dimmer Page" ?? Perhaps with the ScanLibary tool? I can't find anything for that.

Best regards

build your own SSL file, or two. one ssl file for the rgb section and one for the strobe.

When I had other fixtures with multiple types of lights in them, I also created separate fixture profiles for each part of the fixture, as S.lellwitz suggests. This works best when the DMX channels associated with each feature of the fixture are arranged in contiguous groups. To create your own profile(s), you can use the Profile Builder app in LightCloud.

In my experience, any standard “dimmer” channels in the fixture profile will appear as additional dimmer faders in the dimmer group in DL. The “global” dimmer works by scaling-down the RGB values of the fixture behind the scenes, not by actuating the fixture’s underlying dimmer channel (unless it has no RGB channels, IIRC). I understand why DL was created that way (since most multi-beam fixtures with R/G/B channels don’t include dimmer channels for each beam), but it has some unintended side-effects (such as causing hue to shift when dimming).
