Can't open saved files

Post by Tesla_Knight »

I keep getting this error when I try to open a save file.

"Windows Cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

if I open the .exe of the software it launches fine and I can drag the save file into the open window and It'll open but something seems to be wrong with just launching the file on its own. This is for every save file I have on two different drives.

I had some issues on the initial install and had to reinstall it twice before it seamed stable. When I was installing I was getting like a directory error to the presets and stuff in the documents file and didn't want to delete the documents file after. now that i got the software more or less working the save files wont work.

any help is appreciated.

I attempted to remove whatever was left from the registry after doing another uninstall and reinstall the software. Its at the same state it was before.

I was also able to get the install error I had before.
"
error during installation process (daslight5.win):
Cannot create backup of file "D:\Program Files\Faslight 5 \Presets\":
Cannot open D:/Program Files/ Daslight\Daslight 5\Presets\ for input
"

I've spent hours trying to figure it out and I don't know what to do...

Now I also noticed that if I drag the .dvc file into the window it'll open it but I can access the patch library for my fixtures. If I open the 3d visualizer it says failed to load the library for each fixture. If I attempt to update the profile file for each fixture is just says "Problem during the update!"

Noticed the same issue, if I navigate to the file when Daslight is already open (new instance) then it works, and the file loads.

I also tried associating that file type with Daslight again and that seemed to work. This software is beginning to feel like the last. Loads of issues fix one thing and break another, for the cost, it should be perfect and not like this.

I tried reassociating the file and it didn't work. even if I open the file through Daslight i'm having the issues now where it won't load my light profiles.

if it is a software bug this is completely preventing me from using the software..

is there a place I can download and older version of the software?

Additionally, I attempted to associate that file type with Daslight once againdrift boss, and it seemed that this was successful. This piece of software is starting to seem like the last one left.

What did you pay for the software? I got it for free from the website. You can create a complete show and have half a year, or longer, to try everything out. If you are then satisfied, you can buy the hardware. If not, you look for something else.
