Is Midi working in the Daslight 5 b8 already?

should work fine, make sure you select midi in and out, still have an issue with two of the same midi controllers.

hit the top left 3 donts, select edit, preferences. Go to the midi/audio/bpm tab on the left of the pop up menu, select your device from the list, hit the drop down on that device then check MIDI Input and MIDI Output. Then you can close out of that page, select the midi map button in the top right, select the scene you want to bind then the corresponding midi button.
