How would you set up a Master FX fader

Post by Azwahlen »

Hi,

quick question to the community:

Is it possible to create an FX master fader? Let me explain:

Say for a group of rgb par cans I have two scenes running : "dimmer at full" + "color red".

I can play an intensity effect scene on top of that ( fixture dimmer mapped to curve fx, chaser fx or mapping fx in the fx generator).

I can control the intensity of that same FX (via the scene dimmer), from blackout to full FX, but would like to find a way to fade it from static base look to full FX.

Now, how could I set this intensity relative to the running "dimmer at full" scene, mentioned above, so that I can via MIDI How much I want this FX ?

Any input would be more than Helpful!!!

Regards,

Adrien

This would be fantastic if the intensity and dimmer could be separated so the intensity would effect the intensity of the scene and dimmer would just do dimmer. This way you could effectively have a manual fade that you can back away from without the scene actually fully triggering and could go back and fourth.

imagine this,@juls , two scenarios.

Say you have a hand full of rgb fixtures and its playing a white color scene, you have another scene with a rainbow effect. you don't want to just hit the scene because you want a smooth transition but you also dont want to fade because half way through the transition you want to stop(so its more pastel colors) then fade back to white and all of this is controlled by a fader (intensity and not dimmer)

another scenario is that you have a dimmer chase on all the fixtures, same situation you want to have full control of how hard the black sections of the dimmer chase, so with the intensity of the scene starting in the 0 state, as you increase the intensity, the white scene currently playing, slowly gets a ghosting dimmer effect then you can follow with a fader while following the kickdrum or something like that in a live show.
