STAIRVILLE MATRIXX SC-100 DMX LED EFFECT

Post by jonies »

This question includes several questions in one:

1. The above stairville scanner is not included in VC2. Can I even use that scanner with your app?

2. I've been thinking of buying 8 of those Staiville effects plus I have two EUROLITE TS-150 DMX SCAN. Which is all is 10 scanners. Plus I have a MARTIN MAGNUM 850 FOG MACHINE and a STAIRVILLE STROBE 1500 DMX POWER STROBE. In all thats 12 effects. Would you recommend the DASLIGHT DVC2 128-M or should I aim higher at one of your more expensive products? The reason Im asking is that Im representing a smaller youth club in Denmark and we need to be able to be programming as Im running a DJ team with new potential DJ's. Now its time to do some programming but if your device cant be used for our scanners there wouldn't be any reason what so ever to buy your solution :)

Please let me know if its possible :)

Best regards

Yes this scanner can easily be created in the fixture library program. only 4 channels, so best to modify a similar unit the Martin SCX 500 for example.

the DVC 128 is adequate for this numbwer of dmx channels (44) the only limitation of the DVC128 is 30 scenes as opposed to unlimited for the DVC512.

If you are teaching other DJ's then I suggest the DVC512 as you will certainly need more memory space. And yes DVC is the easiest software on the market for DJ's so you have made the right choice.

Concentrate on the Fx generator for some fast immidiate impressive effects. and look at the video tutorials, they are extremely useful for first time users.

Personally I would not bother with the 128 as the number of channels will severely restrict you in the end.
You can only have 30 steps in a scene.
You can only have 4 active scenes at any one time, this and the above will be the hardest thing to live with until you break the 128 channels (not that hard to do).

Go for something like the DVC2 ECO 512, that will give you a full 512 channels out and unrestricted programming.

Well as it is for now we actually have a Futurelight cp-256 mat controller 16bit. Would it be possible to make the scenes in daslight v2 and send it to the controller? In that way I suppose we will have more or less unlimited programming oppurtunities, right?

Obviously I see the problem with the 4 scenes and 30 steps. So if this could work it would be a great help..

Nope, you can only use a Daslight interface with the DVC software.

I see..

So I just stumbled over the "American DJ MYDMX"..
http://www.thomann.de/dk/american_dj_mydmx.htm

Seems that it has no limits and the price are more or less the same as DASLIGHT DVC2 128-M...
Why should I pick daslight instead of the American DJ controller?

Just get me wrong, Im not saying american's is the best, I just want the best product :)

Gentlemen:

I've been following your discussion and would note that the Am. DJ MyDMX Software has a manual on their web site, "http://www.americandj.com/pdffiles/mydmx-version1-0.pdf" It appears that the Am. DJ Software has the same 43 minute limitation. See page 15. paragraph 6.

In addition, the Am. DJ DMX software has the same interface limitation, i.e. their software is designed to operate with their interface(s) not other vendor's interfaces/controllers. It thus appears the ability to port your shows to another vendor's lighting controller/interface is not possible.

Trust this is of assistance. Best Regards.

This is correct. The only way to do this would be to connect the output from one interface into the input of another and record the incoming DMX levels.

Daslights Brother company is Nicolaudie, they make Easy Stand Alone, AM MyDMX is an OEM of Easy Stand Alone. If you have any other queries about the MYDmx drop me a post on the Nicolaudie forums. Note that Daslight is more advanced (but still a basic DJ/live package), hence the higher price tag.
