Possible bug with DL5.0.5.2 beta disconnecting from DVC Gold

Hello. I am using Daslight 5.0.5.2 beta in Windows 11 and am seeing DL disconnect from my DVC Gold after a couple hours of use. I am unable to reconnect from DL (via the Edit->Settings->Devices dialog) without closing and re-opening DL. Any suggestions from the DL team for how to avoid this, or it i...

Re: Fixture index number issue

In my experience, "updating" fixture profiles only works if the beam configuration or DMX channel counts are not changed. If you change either, DL doesn't know how to map the old settings to the new fixture and it will give the error you mentioned. The way that I avoid this problem in my s...

Support for alpha channels with "stacked" presets and in SuperScenes

Along the lines of other questions relating to expanding support for Alpha channels in Daslight, it would greatly enhance the flexibility of Daslight if support for alpha channel (transparency) were provided for stacked presets both in live mode and SuperScenes. For example, if I had a background sc...

Re: Alpha Channel for Mappings FX

I second this request! Adding more generalized alpha channel support throughout Daslight would make it much more flexible.

Minor bug with beam “selection” choice in FX in 5.05 beta

Hello. I am testing DasLight 5.05 beta and I really love the new “edit” context menu on curve and move FX, as well as the new pull down menu that enables specifying a predefined “selection” of beams for an FX to apply to. Thank you! I noticed a minor bug: when I duplicate a scene with FX, the beam s...

Re: Any way to apply the “pause” effect for individual scenes (or tracks) in a superscene’s timeline?

Thanks for the suggestion, Will.

Would it be possible to add a property to each of the FX to make them “stepped” or “smooth”? In other words, do it at the FX level rather than the scene level. Thanks.

Re: Any way to apply the “pause” effect for individual scenes (or tracks) in a superscene’s timeline?

I have still not received any response from Nicolaudie re this request. I am trying to emulate stepped color “chase” behavior based on color mapping (positional) rather than an ordered set of beams. I am doing this because mapped chases work regardless of which subset of the targeted beams are prese...

Re: Is there any way to control the master fader from a scene?

I tried your proposed solution Will and it worked. Thank you. In summary, I created a “whiteout” scene (steps-based) which changes the color of all targeted fixtures to white, created a “dimming” scene that uses a “custom” curve FX scene that is configured as “relative” and modulates the relative br...

Is there any way to control the master fader from a scene?

Using DasLight 5, I have created some “modifier” scenes (with high priority) that I use to layer on top of other scenes during a live show to make things more interesting. One of them whites-out all fixture on beat (it’s BPM-synched) using a step FX with two steps. Step 1 is short and is set to maxi...

Yes — it sounds like you have an additional issue. I’m sorry that I have no help to offer, but hopefully the Daslight team will.

Re: Bug with movement limits not getting saved in DL5 project

Were you able to replicate this bug using the fixture profiles I provided willm, or do you need me to attempt to create a demonstration project? Thanks.

Re: Colorwheel Index no Funktion

I reported this as a bug in how DL5 maps RGB values to black and white presets on color wheel channels here: https://forum.daslight.com/viewtopic.php?t=9207 I discussed this issue with multiple DL5 support folks and they were unable to provide a satisfactory solution or workaround. Hopefully they wi...
