(SOLVED) Same type fixtures on different addresses

Post by roeldm »

I'm new to daslight so forgive me if m question is stupid. I read the board and searched the manual but i'm missing something.

I have 4 compar LED pars of the same type, each 12 channels. I'm using them in 2 groups:
- 2 to light up the DJ booth, they are both on DMX channel 49 up
- 2 to light up truss that are both on DMX channel 72 up.

I patched the compar model 2 times so both sets are on their own channels in the patch overview. I renamed them in the patch view (for my reference) to DJ LED PAR & STAND LED PAR.

In edit, live and show I can see in the lower panel only 1 time the compar model and corresponding faders / palette. I expected to see the fixtures 2 times (since they are patched 2 times)

Now the problem: when I create scenes in edit / live and trigger them, all 4 fixtures that are in 2 sets with different DMX channels respond.

How can I differentiate and have fader / palette for the two groups, or how can I change settings on 1 of the groups of fixtures?

Hope you can hep me out :)

Hi,
did you ever selected the "General" button below the fader view.
Left to your patched fixtures.

Hope it helps

Hi,

Yes, the suggestion by brimborium.

Or choose the tab for your leds and select the fixtures you want to control in the 2D view.
Only the selected device(s) will respond.
You can also create 2 groups of 2 fixtures for easier selection.

Only one tab is created for each fixture definition. That's normal.
If you need to have a separate tab for each fixture of same type, just duplicate the ssl2 file in the patch library.

Hope it helps.

Found out what i did wrong yesterday ;-)

I selected the fixture type (left of general) and changed the settings. This way all of my led pars of that type are selected. Those on the first dmx channel and those on the second dmx channel.

I did not know that by selecting one of the two showed on the right "stage view" and then changing settings resulyed in only applying changes to the selected led par (or in my case the pars on the first or second group of dmx addresses)

( -> the method Pol suggested ;-) )

So problen solved, it was learning curve related :-p
