Problem with the BPM tab function

Hello everyone,

I have the problem with the V5 version that the BPM tab doesn't work very well compared to version 4.

In version 4 the BPM tab ran without any problems, but in version 5 the tempo is not correct at all.

As an example, at 128 BPM it looks like the BPM tab is only 100.

Is it possible to set the hold time to 0 as was possible in version 4.... Unfortunately in version 5 you can only go down to 0.4.

Is there a sensible solution so that the BPM tab works properly or does anyone have an idea how to set it up so that you can work properly with it.

I would be very grateful for suggestions.

If possible, try resetting the BPM tab settings to default. This may resolve any misconfigurations.

It's not that. In my opinion the problem is a programming error in the software.

Depending on how many steps the scene has, I have to change the beat division - sometimes it stays at 8, others 4, others 2 - and also set the fade speed to 0

At least it is now the case that you can use it more or less

However, I found the solution in D4 better where you could directly set BPM to fade or step or time

The programmers should take a look and implement the functions that worked in V4 again 1:1 in V5

The best thing would be to implement S2L as was already discussed in some other 3ad, that works really well

Hello,

The way that BPM synchronised scenes work in Daslight 5 is:

- You set the tempo
- You choose how many beat divisions the scene will be divided into
- The scene will now cycle 1 time every x number of beats, as defined by the tempo

If you are using a Steps scene type, the easiest way of setting the scene to 'Step on BPM' is to:

- Set each step to an equal value (hold and fade time combined)
- Set the number of Beat Divisions to same number of steps used (i.e. if using 8 steps, set a beat division of 8)

The benefit of this method is that you can have full flexibility over your scenes this way. For example, if you want a 'triplet' style effect (i.e. 3 colour changes on every 4 beats)- you can make a scene with 3 steps, then a beat division of 4.

Kind regards,
Will

Thank you for the answer.

I've already figured this out to some extent myself.

In my opinion it's a completely complicated solution, like so many things in version 5.

It would have been better to adopt the existing structure from version 4 and provide additional setting options as it is now in version 5.
