Hello,

Thanks for your post! All licenses on store.dmxsoft.com are upgrades that can be purchased and stored only on a Nicolaudie Group manufactured SUT device. It is not possible to purchase an Art-Net license without having a NG manufactured SUT device, nor is it possible to acquire a Daslight 5 license- which is the main requirement for outputting any DMX from the software (even via Art-Net).

So to sum up, in order to use Daslight- you will need:

- A NG manufactured SUT device
- A Daslight 5 license

If you want to use a 3rd party Art-Net device, you will need all of the above and also an Art-Net license too. Unfortunately it is not possible to use a 3rd party device directly with the software.

Kind regards,
Will

Are you referring to the SUSHI-Z1? If so- it is possible to use this with Daslight, but you would need to purchase the Daslight 5 license for the device first. It is more cost effective actually to purchase the DVC Fun device, though this does come with the Express version of Daslight 5 not the full version (you can upgrade later if needed). Using the SUSHI-Z1 would somewhat negate the need for a 3rd party device- since the SUSHI-Z1 would already be outputting the DMX data from the software.

Kind regards,
Will

Hello,

Art-Net is a protocol for sending DMX over a network wirelessly, so if you wanted to send DMX data from Daslight to an Art-Net receiver (3rd party device)- you could do this with the Art-Net license.

In your case, I don't think this is necessary as you already have 3 options for sending DMX to your fixtures:

- Connect the GZM to the software via USB cable, and send the DMX directly out via XLR cable.
- Connect the GZM to the software via network (connect the device to a router via RJ45 cable), and send the DMX directly out via XLR cable.
- Play scenes from the GZM without any software via Stand Alone mode, and send the DMX directly out via XLR cable.

Option 2 is in fact nearly identical to Art-Net as a process, however it requires no further license purchase to use this.

Kind regards,
Will

Hello, if I own a Cameo DVC 4 and purchase the full version of Daslight 5 software, will I have access to the Art-Net functionality in Daslight 5?
If so, how many universes are available in the full version of Daslight 5?

Hello,

The full version of the software will not activate any Art-Net universes. For this, you would need to activate the Art-Net license from the Hardware section of the upgrades list (found at store.dmxsoft.com). You can purchase this in packs of 1 universe for $99 or 20 universes for $499.

Kind regards,
Will
