Is it possible to work in arnet protocol with an ADJ My dmx buddy interface?

Hello, I currently have an ADJ mydmx buddy unit which I understand is the same Sushi DS unit, it is updated to 512 dmx channels and works with daslight 5 in full mode, I currently want to work in artnet mode since I need more than 2 universes to control the total number of lighting equipment that I have since many are pixel leds and I see that in the upgrades menu my unit does appear to be updated to artnet with both 1 universe and 20, I would like to know if it is fully compatible with artnet and if daslight 5 works with any dmx node or needs a specific one also if I should connect the interface that I have to this node or should it only be connected to the pc for the license.
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
It is possible to use Daslight 5 with Art-Net devices, however you will need the relevant licenses for this. Art-Net licenses can be purchase at store.dmxsoft.com, and the pricing is listed below:
1 Universe of Art-Net output = $99
20 Universes of Art-Net output = $499
The Art-Net license(s) are stored on your SUT device, in this case the MyDMX Buddy, so connecting this device to the software will act as a sort of 'key' to unlock the Art-Net functionality. Once this is done, you can connect to your Art-Net node through the Settings > Devices screen, or even create a 'virtual device' where you determine manually the exact IP Address to send data to (for your Art-Net node to receive).
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Will

If you decide to expand with an Art-Net node, you won't need to connect the MyDMX Buddy interface to it. The Art-Net node itself will connect to your PC via Ethernet, and the Daslight 5 will output the DMX data to your PC over the network.

Hello,
If you are using a MyDMX 5 device, you wont need the Art-Net license. This license is only required to connect to a 3rd party device that supports Art-Net.
Kind regards,
Will

If you need Art-Net (which runs DMX over Ethernet), you would need an Art-Net-compatible DMX interface or a dedicated Art-Net-to-DMX node to convert Art-Net signals to standard DMX512.
