Quick movement in full range

Post by pietia »

Hello.
Let's say I have got programmed parabole shape movement with width amplitude (FX type scene).
When I increase the movement speed, it cannot be performed in the full range
What I am doing wrong?

You mean movement limit? Yes I limited movement of heads to 180 degrees but this must be something different.

no not software limitations, I mean by the time the mover is moving to one side full it gets the parameter to move to the other side because its going too fast so it never actually reaches the end points.

So you mean TIME. Please indicate where it is? Should I lenghten the time or can I totally "switch itoff" (just not to be taken into consideration by scene at all)?

set up a step scene with two steps, one step with the mover at one side, then the other scene at the other side. Sate fade time to zero and time how long it takes for the mover to reach the other side. that will be the max speed your mover can travel at. which means when you adjust the speed of your FX scene, you have to be equal to or less then that speed you timed the mover at.

The solution you had suggested refers to the STEP scene type. I used Move FX type to create movement.

wasn't a solution, was trying to explain that the mover takes time to move from one place to another

that limitation is not software related, its the physical ability of the mover. The software is giving the correct output, the mover just cant keep up.

Not exactly on everyday work I use other dmx software witha ability to change movement's speed without affecting movement range.

I think your movement is too fast. I suggest reducing the movement speed or increasing the frame rate of your scene. You can adjust the frame rate in Dashlight's project settings.
