S2L

Good afternoon,
Is there a way to apply Sound To Light? Or is this still being worked on. On my fixture I can also use S2L via channel 13. However, only the microphone of the fixture itself is used here and not the outgoing sound. In addition, this is also per fixture, so unfortunately they are not synchronous.

Does anyone happen to have a solution for this?
Thankyou,
Jarno

It is possible to use sound-to-light with DMX lighting. However, I couldn’t find any information about using channel 13 for sound-to-light. It might be best to contact the manufacturer of your fixture for more information on how to use this feature.

There is the possibility to use S2L in 2 ways. The "classical" S2L would be controlled by Pulse. You can choose this in each Scene and can also select which input signal should be used (Microphon, Line in, ....). Maybe you can also map a virtual input, but I haven't worked with that feature yet. If you want a BPM synchron light, than you can choose controlled by BPM and this can be used with a midi clock, Ableton Link or Tapping. You have to be carefull with the effects generators. Some of them are not built to be used with these functions. You can select it, but it doesn't work properly, because it is not designed in steps, which can be triggered by BPM.
Anyway you can only used this function to trigger the speed of your scenes. A S2L, which completely uses internal programs of the fixture but triggered by the DMX Software will not work with any Fixture, because DMX can only sent Channel values and is not designed to sent some kind of trigger (would work in general, but I've never seen a fixture, which works that way).
