Hello,
is there any way in D5 to patch two fixtures with the same DMX address?
For some setups, when you have a left and a right truss, it would be very helpful if you could use the same address range for both fixtures. Perhaps this could be implemented easy in one of the following versions.

Stephan

I dont event get what you want.
You can set the same DMX adress of fixtures but of course you.can only path one fixture at a specific dmx adress.

I think what he means is in the 2d and 3d visualizer is there a way to duplicate a fixture to represent the real life patterns with fixtures that are set as the same addresses.
Example you have a truss of 8 rgb par cans.
______________________________
-address -[10] [20] [30] [40] [40] [30] [20] [10]-
-------------------------------------------
______________
but in daslight you only see -[10] [20] [30] [40] -

Hey,
since they use the same address and they are identical devices it’s not necessary to patch both.
You can patch 10-40 and this is enough to control all of your fixtures.

Re: [QUESTION] Patch two fixtures with same DMX address
On each fixture, there is usually a way to set its DMX address. This can be done using DIP switches, a digital display, or through software, depending on the fixture. Follow the instructions in the fixture's manual to set a unique DMX address for each fixture.

Re: [QUESTION] Patch two fixtures with same DMX address
I think its possible in the 3D visualizer just by duplicating a fixture and not changing the associated address. But I guess its not possible in DasLight, because every fixture takes space in the patch window where you cant have two fixtures overlapping. Maybe thats a good fixture request for the next version bacause I needed the same for our last project and just used one fixture in the middle of the room in the 2D visualizer.
On the other hand it gives the question how mapping effects will work. Because they cant use both placed fixtures in the 2D visualizer to decide which color they should have. That might be the problem why it isnt a feature yet.
