Come on simon let us know what the progress is on DVC 3, best kept secret in the lighting control world.

Off to France mid December. I'll be speaking with the new developer and looking at where we're up to with the new software then. I'll let you know.

One thing I do know is that there has been an undo/redo implemented! (ok, not so exciting but from a programming point of view it's pretty big)

DVC3 development progress is much faster than it was 4 months ago. Some of the fundamental difficult features have been implemented such as support for the new SSL2 profile format.

A fair few bugs have been fixed including a complete re-write of the live previous/next button code.

Other features finished include scene colors, scene progress bars in live, master dimmer, better overview of all midi, dmx and keyboard shortcuts, undo/redo, a few graphical changes and a load more (I can give a complete list once the beta is out)

It's still too early to give a date but we want to have the product ready to introduce at PLASA next year so we should have a beta available a few months before.

I was hoping we would see a beta long before Plasa. especially with so much code re-written , It would need a lot of testing and customer feedback.

Are the virtual 3d simulator by DVC3 ready for SSL2 files, the currently viewer of the latest version of Sunlite 2 are not

There will be no updates to the virtual 3D simulator, just bug fixes. This tool is not currently in development.

Is it possible to get a program on a midi or DMX-IN Channel dimmable?
This is a great functions for Par-programs.

Are we need to buy new interfaces for DVC3 or works it with the new DVC2 Interfaces, if this works we can buy a new interface, if it dont's we wait to the release of DVC3

We've been working on integrating the new audio analysis recently and at the moment we are fixing some scan library bugs. Development will resume later in the month. Here is some of the stuff done so far...

when scenes are copied, not all properties are copied

previous and next buttons should not change every scene in the software, it should only change the most recent activated scene, at the moment I think it is too complicated and for sure there are several bugs here

attached photo show an example of what happened when I clicked the previous and next buttons a few times with 2 scenes selected. The was a very small test show. Notice the random scene which appears on top of the group window...these button actually did something!

It would be cool to have the possibility to add a small bar to a scene button which shows the duration...or if this is too difficult, maybe some numbers to display the total time of the scene and the current position (like a music track on a media player)
