Patching Fixture with highest channel on 512 creates new universe

Hi all,

I decided to put all the uplighting fixtures at the end of the universe channels. But while doing this I came across the following strange behaviour, that I would consider right now as bug:

When patching a fixture with the highest channel on 512, it automatically creates a new universe and sets the fixture on the first channels in that new universe. So to get my wanted setup, I need to first place the fixture on 511 as highest channel and then move to 512 as highest channel.

So is this a bug? Is there something like a bugzilla, where I could check in such cases if this is an already known issue? Or is the forum the only way to interact check for a status?

Regards, Torsten

Hi,

I have checked and it's indeed a bug in the latest beta also (Oct 17 2017).

Even with a basic dimmer (1 channel), if it's patched on channel 512, Daslight adds a new universe automatically and patches it to the channel 1 of that brand new universe.

It seems that the coding handles channels from 1 to 511 instead of 1 to 512 (mismatch with 0..511 and 1..512 ?).

Although it works fine when the fixture is first dropped on channel 511 and then moved to 512.

Same issue whatever the number of channels, if the highest channel is patched on 512.

Note: my bug reference is (2017-10-17-002) BUG - Patching highest channel 512

Hey,

Sorry and thanks for reporting this. It'll be fixed in next version.
