Hello,

Is it possible to edit a fixture's ssl file so that the master dimmer fader is usable on a channel
that has a dimmer + strobe and utility functions as well or is it not possible currently?

I'm not sure I understand what you want to do, but for the software to know what channel to apply the master dimmer on, you need to check the Dimmer property on the channel in PATCH mode :

(1) switch to list view
(2) check the 'Dimmer' box to the desired channel

I understood a combination of dimmer and shutter on the same channel - right?

Yes i know about this functionality but the issue is what @brimborium is showing where the fixture has the format as he has in the picture and the master dimmer is taking the full range of the dimmer/shutter channel and not the range where the actual dimmer values are.

would be nice to get an information which DMX functions are supported by your hardware and how they are organized.
Which value supports which function (shown in your fixture manual).
The masterdimmer you are talking about is the masterdimmer in live mode - is it ?
