Please excuse my lack of knowledge if this is a simple thing to do. I have several p-64RGB-LED cans that im using. I will use two of the cans as an example to simplify. What I have are two of these pars (addressed the same, in other words tied together to function the same), The cans are in two different locations in the room. What I want to do is for the 3D visualizer to show me two cans so I can accurately represent the look. I can add one fixture with no problem. How can I add a second fixture to the same address and universe as the "Used" address are not visible? Will the Matrix help in this situation? I cannot find any help or documentation on how to use it.

No Sorry not possible , the best you can do is to create two visualiser pages one with one room on it and the other for the second room.
You can“t view two rooms simultaneously anyway on the 3D visualiser. or any other visualiser to my knowledge.

Hi greghig,
I can understand what Richard means but it can be done.
You can make your stage look like two rooms, by putting some object in the middle to represent a wall. Just resize a square box or something.
Getting a duplicate light can be acheived in this way.
Ensure you have ALL the fixtures you are ever going to use in this show patched into DVC2.
In the Virtual 3D Simulator, go into "Construction mode".
In the "listing" pane and in the "Fixtures" tab find the fixture you want to have 2 or more of. Select it by left click on it. Then right click and select "Duplicate" from the context menu that appears.
Select the duplicated fixture and move it to where you want etc.
Repeat for other fixtures you want to duplicate.
When all done, go back to "User mode".
Save the show.
Now the important bit, which is why I said ensure you have patched ALL the fixtures you are going to use in DVC2, from now on when you start the Virtual 3D Simulator it will tell you "The patch has just been modified. Do you wish to automatically add the changes to the visualizer patch?" You must always answer "No".
If you answer "Yes" then you will have to go through the duplication process again as it pull what fixtures you have patched in DEVC2 back into the Virtual 3D Simulator.
If you have at sometime ticked the "Do not ask this question again. Keep the current mode." Then obviously you will not get this and I am not sure how to reset it. I would expect by creating a new show.
Hope that is understandable and helps,

That seems to work but you are right, at one time I must have clicked the "Dont ask me again" button. and I am stuck in "Automatic mode" indeffinately. Does anybody know how to turn off automatic mode once it's been activated? Regestry hack? INI file hack?
Why in the world would this not be a menu option? Even better, give us the ability to tag the "duplicated" fixtures so the program wont "reset" the fixtures when new ones are added.

I think I have found the solution, it took some time and I was worried that I would not get it back, I was looking inside the 3D Projects Folder where there is another EasyView.ini file
OK.
Ensure that DVC2 and the 3D Visualiser are not running.
In the folder where you have installed DVC2 see if there is a file called EasyView.ini if so open it with NotePad and look for a line called INIPATCHDLG=
It should have a 1 (one) after it to show the patch dialogue box.
If it is 0 (zero) then change it to 1 (one).
Save the file.
Now you should be able to restart DVC2 and the 3D Visualiser and it should prompt you again for the patch change.
If there is not an EasyView.ini in the location where you installed DVC2 then try in the 3D Projects folder, if not then create a new "stage" in 3D Visualiser and let it patch auto as per what is happening. Save it and then exit out of programs and see if has changed the EasyView.ini file becausae it should have the name of the file near the top of the ini file to ensure you have the right one.
Hope it helps, and yes there should be a menu option for it.
