Daslight 3 to Daslight 4 transition

Hi All

A couple of queries if I may?

Firstly, will my live shows I created on Daslight 3 run on Daslight 4?
I have all my scenes on D3 preset with midi note triggers. Will D4 accept these triggers or will I have to reallocate all midi notes to each scene all over again once I start using D4?

Secondly, is there any way to edit scenes via the Remote App so that intended beam positions of moving head fixtures etc can be tweaked and saved for every scene via a tablet rather than trying to drag my laptop from the side of the stage through all the instruments with a long DMX cable to a suitable vantage point? Not all stages are the same size and therefore the fixtures can never placed in the same virtual position for every gig. This is becoming a bit of a pain as the whole light show is triggered via my synth with midi and my laptop from the side of the stage and we don't have a lighting or sound engineer at the rear of the venues where the controller could usually be placed.

Any help or advice in this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hey WayScar,

Yes they will. You will be able to import your DVC3 show files to Daslight 4, and save them as Daslight 4 projects. Be careful, because once it's been saved in Daslight 4, you won't be able to use them in DVC3 anymore. We are currently working on importing the last details from Daslight 3 showfiles into Daslight4 (Midi and shortcuts). The fix should soon be available.

Yes there is, you can edit your scenes as much as you want as long as the software is in Edit mode on your computer. Your controls should edit the data directly.

beam positions of moving head fixtures ... be tweaked and saved for every scene

We have already planned on developing a feature to fit this kind of need in the future. Though I'm afraid it isn't available at the moment.

[EDIT] Some of my answers weren't quite accurate, I just corrected myself.

Hope that helps !
