DVC2 Crash and stuck in memory

I have just downloaded DVC2 (23 May 2008 version) and installed it on my Vista 32 laptop.
While making a small change, copying a scene it crashed and now is locked in memory. I have called up "Task Manager" and done an "End Process" but it does not remove it from memory. Now when I try to start DV2 again it tells me it is altready running.
The only option is to shut the computer down and restart it.

This does not bode well at all, considering this was the first attempt at doing anything with that version.

I hope it is a glitch and will not happen again, but I am seriously beginning to loose faith in this product and it's support.

I have the same problems with the Dez and NoV Version of DVC2 (Normal + Beta). Sometimes the System hangs.

I have test it with the Gold Interface on different PC´s with USB
Power and external Power. The same failure.

Any Ideas? Professional Work is not possible.

Still happening for me even with the new December download.

If I unplug the interface the program will end straight away.

Yep as you said, not much good now for professional work and I have a show to do Saturday :(

I have found that on a Vista 32 machine if the interface is connected when you start DVC2 that is when it hangs.

For some reason it does not seem to recognise the interface before DVC2 is started. So when it is plugged in and then you start DVC2 I think it hangs because it is trying to load the driver and the program is trying to access the interface at the same time to see what it is and it clashes.

Now I am not sure if that is something to do with the new firmware it attempted to install on the interface. The new drivers for the interface or something that has changed in a Microsoft update. I say attempted to install as the program hung and I had to update it on my XP machine.

Solutions ...
    1) Unlug interface, start DVC2 then plug in the interface.
    2) Throw it in the bin and buy something that works properly and has decent support.

I am really getting fed up with the lack of support for this product. It is such a wonderful program realy, but the support and development side is really starting to drive me to look else where.
