OK so you have posted this question in DVC2 folder and as far as I am aware Windows 8 is 64 bit not 32 bit.
All the latest DVC3 interfaces are 64 bit.

try un installing the drivers, then re installing with the software not open.
you may have to look for the drivers seperately because windows 8 will not load tham from the device like XP would.
I think the drivers can be found on the download page of Daslight.com.

The 'USB timer' error was with a previous release of the software. I can't reproduce this with the latest version. Uninstall DVC3 completely and install the latest version from the website to see if this helps. We will make some more Windows 8 tests next week.

I followed the instructions below and was not able get software to work in either jan 23 or beta3 versions, after install, launch program (either version) now software crashes, looking at software install info in control panel I find the item called "windows driver package - lightingSoft AG (winUSB) USB (11/21/2012 2.0)"
Both installs were done as first time install
1. Windows Key + R
2. Enter shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
3. Click the "OK" button
4. System will restart to a "Choose an option" screen
5. Select "Troubleshoot" from "Choose an option" screen
6. Select "Advanced options" from "Troubleshoot" screen
7. Select "Windows Startup Settings" from "Advanced options" screen
8. Click "Restart" button
9. System will restart to "Advanced Boot Options" screen
10. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"
11. Once the system starts, install the driver
Also, make sure you're using the latest beta of the software.

(windows driver package DAS(Siudi) USB (09/20/2012 1.6.0)
(windows driver package DAS (WinUSB) USB (12/14/2011 1.4)

Just tried an experipemt, I copied working folder from win 7 os machine and
pasted it on the root C:/ win8 machine and as far as getting the software to run it seems to be working, I will try to test it with interface asap. I will let you know what happens.
