I recently had contact with a DJ who claimed to have used a usb box possibly DVC with a dmx operator type controller. in stand alone mode.

Is this possible, ie instead of using the HE10 connector for accessing the prestored programs??

No, this is not possible with any of our controllers. I have had a customer make a DMX controlled relay to connect to the HE10 though.
