Daslight Intermitant Fault

Post by MartyJ »

Hi there

I am running Das 5 with 2 universes via mydmx3 dongles (RM)

I keep getting an internitant fault where lights will be blacked out with the fade set to the scene.

Now you all thinking (as I did) that this is a programing fault, but I have checked all the scenes/overides and all looks fine.

I cant even pin it down to a certain scene or fixture as it changes from load to load and saturday in the afternoon sound check it was playing up, and i could make it play up by changing scenes, reladed for the show and it was fine.

Not sure if its a das glitch or me?

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for raising this thread! Would you please be able to attach a copy of your .dvc project file here (you may need to compress it to a zipped file). It would also be helpful to know if there is any particular scene(s) and/or fixture(s) that show this behaviour so that we can attempt to reproduce the issue.

Kind regards,
Will

Hi Will

Please find the one drive link above for the file.

Things that happen -

Black out to mainly the pars (uking) using scene colour and move scenes on the 260zr fixtures also occasionally the zoom changes cause the same changes.

Random colour changes to the same pars on 1 universe only and if I change the universes over in das the fault changes to the other universe.

I have also had the bars lock on red and unable to change them until software is restarted.

Ive never had this issue until recently and have been using das 5 for a good 18 months with no issues.

The only other thing I have changed is the midi control and swapped to a apc40.

All the faults above have been correctly displayed in daslight.

Give me a shout if you need more info

Regards
Martyn

Hello Marty,

Thanks for sending that- I can't see anything in particular that looks to be an obvious issue with the project file. Would you possibly be able to send over a video(s) demonstrating these issues so that we can look further into this for you?

Can you also please perform a DMX Selftest through Hardware Manager? (Open Hardware Manager > Connect to your device > DMX In/Out > Perform DMX selftest for each port). If an error occurs there, please let us know.

It would also be good to know if you could check using different DMX cables- as this can sometimes be the cause of issues like this.
