Post by adtuk23 »

hi there, i have the old dvc2 gold interface and have just moved onto windows 7 home 64bit, my interface will no longer work, i have been told i can buy an upgrade from such as pc world called windows xp mode for £99 but i wondered if i bought this would my interface then work, or do i have to buy a new interface as these all now support windows 7, also will i be able to upgrade my interface by sending it back to daslight and paying the difference in cost for a new one, or is my current interface i own now useless

Hi

First of all, your DVC2 interface is fully compatible with Windows 7 32 bit.

It is not compatible with any 64 bit operating system, XP64, vista64, severn64.

Buying XP mode will not solve the problem as it is still running on a 64 bit operating system.

You need to
1. Install windows 7 32bit
2. Exchange your old interface for a new on, check the upgrade prices at the bottom of the "Prices" page of the website. And e-mail me your address and serial if you want to go ahead with the upgrade

You might not need to buy Windows XP Mode for £99. First, try running the DVC2 Gold software in compatibility mode:
1. Right-click the software's .exe file.
2. Select "Properties" > "Compatibility" tab.
3. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)."
4. Click "Apply" and try running it again.
If that doesn't work, check Daslight’s website or support to see if they offer updated drivers for Windows 7. Some older interfaces may not be supported anymore, so upgrading might be your only option. You can contact Daslight directly to ask if they offer a trade-in or upgrade program.
