Turn fixture off when scene is turned off

Post by Hendrik »

Hi,

I've been using Daslight 4, and nowadays version 5 for quite some time now, but for some reason I am not able to resolve the following (seems easy) issue:

When pressing a scene, the attached fixture starts i.e. illuminating and moving, but when I press the scene button again, the fixture just stops where it was. It keeps illuminating en stops the movement. That's not what I want.

It would like the fixture to stop illuminating and returning to its "basic" position when (un)pressing the scene button again. Is there a setting in Daslight to fix this, or what (maybe easy) solution is there?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Cheers, Hendrik

Hi Hendrik,

The reason for this is likely that you are still in Edit mode, rather than Live mode. Imagine in Daslight 4, you have the Edit tab for programming and then the Live tab for playing scenes- Daslight 5 actually combines both screens in to one, and you can simply toggle between Edit and Live using the buttons found directly above where your faders are.

The reason that a scene never fully turns 'off' whilst in Edit mode is because sometimes you need to be able to visualise a scene without having it playing (at least, this is the case when you are programming a scene- but not when playing it back live). Since a scene is always selected in Daslight 5, there is always a scene is always being previewed whilst you are in Edit mode.

Kind regards,
Will
