Custom gobo images in profile editor & Daslight 5

Post by markov »

I’m working on creating a comprehensive profile for a laser fixture that will be used in both Daslight 5 and LightRider. I am planning on using the “gobo pattern” construct to represent the (large) array of geometric patterns that the laser can generate. Is there any way to upload custom gobo pattern graphics to a fixture profile in Lightcloud? If so, will they appear in Daslight 5 and LightRider?

If there is presently no way to do this, I would like to request that this capability be added.

Currently there is a catalogue of standard gobo patterns, which both the Light RIder app and the cloud 'know' about. When a profile is downloaded, it contains a string name that corresponds to the pattern. I don't know if there is any planned update to allow user uploaded graphics, but including this functionality could substantially increase the size of profiles both for storage and download.

I suggest that you pick a pattern that is as close as possible to the actual appearance, and use that for your custom profile.

As an aside, this is a Daslight forum, so isn't regularly checked by Light Rider developers. I recommend that you raise a ticket on the Light RIder website for any support issues.
