Text FX

Post by lagarrigue »

Hi,
I'm not able to find the Text effect that was in the Matrix effect in Daslight 4 ...
Any idea of where it is now, if it is still present in Daslight 5 ?
Thanks !

Hi again,
I think I'm loosing something : when I create a Color Mapping effect, after applying it to my fixtures, I'm not able to add a feature (dimmer) to it. There is no red FX button on the dimmer, like with the regular Mapping effect. So nothing is happening (the effect runs, the fixtures do not light).
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks !!!

Hi everybody,
Little up regarding this question.
I need to create texte effects that apply to Dimmer, not Color, because they show on a matrix of single-color fixtures (LED panels or PAR 64).
Any idea how I could do this ?
In the Mappings effect there is no Text, only in Color Mapping ... where I can't add Dimmer as a Feature .....
Thanks !

Hello!

Currently, this is not something that is possible to do as it is only present in the Colour Mappings scene type. If your fixture uses White channels instead of Dimmers, it can be possible to do this. Is there a specific fixture profile that you are working with that I can look into making a customised profile adjustment to?

Kind regards,
Will

Hi Will, and thanks for the answer.
As a matter of fact I'm building "matrix screens" with led panels like this ones :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050056 ... pt=glo2fra
It is a matrix of 84 panels (12 x 7).
I can send you a small video of the "screen" it composes.
These LED panels are 1-channel, it is the reason why I have to address them with Dimmer. I use these DMX controllers :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050027 ... pt=glo2fra
30 channels for 30 LED panels, I have 3 controllers.
The "screen" works fine, I just need to animate texts on it !
Hope you can help me :-)

A workaround could be to create a new fixture that only contains one color channel.

Unfortunately I can't test it right now.

I tried to create one fixture, but I must be an idiot, even with a generic RGB I can't have the mapping to work : no levels on my fixtures ...
I attach the DVC and SSL files, if someone can help ...
Thanks !!!!!!!

Hello! I have created a quick video using your Daslight project to demonstrate how to do this, of course the Effect would need some amount of tweaking to perform well (in fact, I would also recommend going to the Setup screen then selecting your fixtures and right clicking to make them into a smaller size, then readjust their positions to the correct shape).

Hope this helps to get you started nonetheless!

Oh thanks SOOOOOO MUCH !!!!!!!

And I even achieve to do video mapping on the same fixtures, using Color Mappings in Grayscale, that's so cool !!!

Have the same beautiful day that I'll have :-)))
