control Pan/Tilt Movement of different fixtures

Post by ChrisGER »

In the F.A.Q. the last point says:
"How to easily monitor fixture positioning
In the DVC Setup software, after inserting a fixture from its SSL library, a keyboard key is automatically associated with your light PAN & TILT movements. ....."

I think this would be a great function, but I can't find it anywhere in the software. Even in the onlinemanual is just a picture of this shortcutfunction but no desciption.
Can anyone describe me where it is or if it will come in the next update?

Please help!

In live mode click on the fixture tab, then click the upper icon on the left.

this will now open all the fixtures in the tab, and as long as "dissable the moving fader" in the tools menu is unchecked,

this panel will now show all the live dmx values for all the heads in the tab.

You can override any dmx value, which will put that channel in LTP mode. and this can be restored by using the 3 hands next to the row of Function buttons at the top of the panel.

Yes, but I would like to move a head and a scan at the same time with the same movement.
I thought because of the FAQ and the pictures, that you can give every head and scan a shortcut key and if a head and a scan have the same, you can hold this key and move the pan/tilt. Then they will both make this movement.
My problem is that I don't find the field to put in the shortcuts as it looks on the pictures in the FAQ and also in the manual.

the key assigned to a head was only in DVC1.

this function is no longer in DVC2. and never possible for a moving head and a scanner at the same time ,

because a moving head pan is normally 540 degrees, and a scanner is normally only 160 degrees, so over the range of a channel the values would be different anyway.
