Temporary Blinder/Strobe on Midi Key

Post by PeterF »

Hello Folks!
We are using the DVC2 software with a DVC3 512 interface, the build is from the stable branch and current.
The midi controller is a elation midicon.

We got 4 groups of scenes (moving heads, scanners, led-bar and led-par). Each szene in each group is exclusive only to the group.
The scenes are are mapped to the midi keys.
You can mix and match the different scenes from the groups by pressing the keys.

Now i would like to patch a button on the controller to the following funktions:
Everything to white!
Everything that can to strobe and everything else black!

For that purpose there is a 5th group with 2 scenes in it with the right settings for each piece of light hardware.

But... how do i make the following possible:
Press key on midicon -> stop current szenes -> everything white
Release key on midicon -> resume previous scenes

I can get this to work on the "virtual screen" when i enable the "flash" mode on the assigned virtual button and point it to the right szene.

But i cant map a button on the midicon to do the same, no matter what i do.

Greetings,
Peter

Hi PeterF,

for Blinders, Strobes, Fog, Blackouts aso.
i use the Effectbuttons.

Its very easy to do it.
Just Start DVC2 go to Livesection,
choose your Fixtures and set the Channels
to strobe. Remember all touched Channels
will be saved to the Effectbutton,
so just touch the Faders you really need.
Than click the green + (Plus) icon above
for "new effect". then give the effect a name like "STROBE"
and click on "include live Faders".
In the next window you can choose if it should be a flash or togglebutton
and link it to midi aso.
Now you have a new Button in your Livescreen,
with a right-click on it you can change the color of the button wich is also
the group for the effect buttons, like all blackoutbuttons are grey, Fogbuttons are red, Blinders are white ...

The effectbuttons have always the higer priority,
but your scenes run menawhile in the background.
When you release your effectbutton flash or toggle, your
running scenes are immediately on.

PS: try to make a full Blackout
Set all your Dimmer/Shutter channels from every Fixture to 0,
save this as a effectbutton with flashfunction .... and have FUN :-)
