Can't get my interface to work

Post by dasBaschdi »

Hello together,

I've just installed DasLight4 and I'm trying to get it to work with my DMX interface:
SIUDI 9B

The interface shows up in the Hardware Manager, but not under Edit>Preferences>Devices.
I updated the firmware to 1.22
Behind the interface I've got a Stairville LED PAR 56 located at channel 1, taking up 5 channels. If I use the faders under Tools>Hardware Manager>SIUDI 9B>DMX In/Out>DMX Out the PAR LED behaves as intended. If I use a fader in universe 1, nothing happens.

Could you help me get started?

Thank you very much,
Bastian

I bought it here back in 2013 and had it working with an older version of DasLight.

Thank you for looking into it!
Do you need more information?

Hello,

Your interface is a DVC3 128. Sadly this isn't compatible with Daslight4.
You may want to go through an upgrade process on this page : https://store.daslight.com/fr/upgrade

The upgrade will allow you to sell us your interface back for a nice discount on the price of a new DVC4-compatible interface.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
TomHat

Well that explains it =)
I use the interface at home only, so I would rather not put more money into it, but let's see what they can do.

Since I'm mainly a Linux user I would appreciate the possibility to run the device under Linux, to be more precise on a 24/7 online raspberry pi to which I can connect via VNC. I see that it is a lot of work to port the software to Linux and to support arm processors, but there are great OpenSource applications like qlcplus out there. From what I've read nicolaudie isn't willing to provide the necessary drivers for their hardware. That's an angle you could work on more easily.

Speaking for me it would be a selling point for a new interface if I could run it the way I described above.

If there already is a cheaper (home use only) interface let me know!

Kind regards,
Bastian
