If you translate „Check for missing files“ to „Prüfe vermisste Dateien“ I don’t know if that would be much better…

Wenn dann "Prüfe auf fehlende Dateien"...
Google Translator ist halt auch nicht immer eine Lösung, dann lieber gar nicht
