Hey,
everything works like in the previous version of Daslight but it's a bit different to Daslight 4.
1. Go to Preferences > MIDI/Audio/BPM
2. Open the dropdown menu for your MIDI controller
3. Check MIDI Input and MIDI Output to turn them on
Now you can close the preferences menu
Note: For the "AKAI APC Mini MK2" you only have to check the options for "APC mini mk2 Control".

4. Go to Mappings > Map MIDI
5. Select the target scene
6. Press a button on your MIDI device
Now a new entry for the MIDI mappings should appear and you're ready to set Input and Output

To change the "OFF" state of the button:
Change "Control state" to "Off"
Change the value of "Velocity" to the MIDI Output for the "Off" state

To change the "ON" state of the button:
Change "Control state" to "On"
Change the value of "Velocity" to the MIDI Output for the "On" state

Note: In some cases, the colors won't be applied instantly. To check if everything works correct close the MIDI Mappings menu.

Hope I could help you with that.

Regards,
Matrix

Hello everybody

Ive made a screenshot with my settings in Daslight5 and Daslight4. Its the similar setting and on the midi watcher you can see i get output to my midicon2. but the number doesnt change to 106 when i would like to turn the led on. Only the Level is setted to 106. Maybe is that the problem?

I don't think the number is intended to change here. The number is the assigned trigger (button/fader/...) to the scene. So the output is also assigned to the same trigger. I don't how the Midicon2 works in that case, but I think you want an output on another trigger/display/... thats seperate from the trigger.

So I don't think this is a bug, but it would be a nice feature to change the MIDI Out to another number.

Heyyy Matrixligghts… thanks for your answer. I dont know whats exactly the problem with these midi-outputs :(…. In daslight 4 everything worked with exactly the same settings (as you can see ok my screenshot) and the leds turned on and off when i activated oder deactivated a scene…

Hey,
can you tell how you exactly want it to work? Is the LED seperate from your trigger?
If it's a seperate MIDI output (Input number ≠ Output number) I think you can't change it.

Hello MatrixLights,

thank you very much for your detailed explanation.
Nevertheless the DL5 LED Feedback does not work like i want.

Please have a look at this video.
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/8pwago4i ... 0bhqvod0kp
I want the LED to be light up green if the scene is not playing and blinking red if so.

Very interesting is that if I release the scene by the midi controller the feedback does not work.
If I release it with the mouse it works fine.
This could be solved in DL4 with "Feedback when data received".

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Yeeesss....
I would like to turn on the blue Led on my midicon when i push the button who trigger the szene in daslight. Then when i push the button again and stopp the szene i would like to turn off the blue led.
Turn on and turn off the szene in daslight5 when i push the button works, but i get no led output. In daslight4 this works with the same setting and as i wrote as an example with the number or in daslight5 the level 106.

In the screenshots you can see the difference between daslight 4 and 5.... I think the Problem is the Number 41 in Daslight5 that should be 106 to turn on and off the leds on the midicon...

no problem, I think others can also use my explanation.

I wish I could help but I can‘t since the feedback is automated by DL5. I think that this might be a bug if it works with the mouse but not your controller like in your video. As I said before, I think it would be better to include a manual option for this, even if you had to turn on a manual mode in the settings of DL5.

Yes. Like I said, you have to be careful with „Number“ and „Velocity/Level“. Number means the ID of the button or LED. So the number 41 indicates a button, the number 106 indicates an LED. To control the color of the LED you have to use the level. To simplify this, in my example LED level 1=On and 0=Off.
So if you want the LED to be be on, you have to set the number 106 to the velocity/level 1, number 106 and level 0 to turn the LED off.
Like your output shows, the output goes to number 41 which is the button. Since the button doesn‘t have an LED to turn on or off, nothing happens.
Unfortunately, there is no workaround at the moment. I use a MIDI controller that has the LED built in the button so this would works. But other controllers like the Midicon 2 don‘t work.
An output option would be great. I don‘t think they‘ll refuse to add such a feature in the future since the Midicon 2 is a well-known and frequently used device.

Heyyyy MatrixLights, thank you very mutch for you explanations.
Its really bad to realise there is no workaround to turn on and off the leds at the moments, because like i said in daslight 4 everything worked. For me its essential to see which button or scene is on and off....
So the only option is to wait till the programmers implement this function in daslight5..... :? i hope that happens asap....

It's the same with my APC40 MKII. I noticed in the Midi Wacher that it always makes an ON / Off. As long as I stay on the button, it's on and the button lights up. As soon as I release the button it is off and the button is dark.
