translating fixtures / scene

Post by lagarrigue »

Hi,
I have a lot of scenes playing on fixtures 1 to 35.
I would like some of them to play on fixtures 36 to 70, 71 to 105, 106 to 140, and 141 to 175.
I'm looking for an automatic way of doing this, as I have a lot of scenes with a lot of steps in each scene ...
Any idea's welcome !!!
:P

Hi, please explain a little more. It sounds like you need to split your scenes into groups which will allow you to play multiple scenes at the same time.

Hi !
Thanks for the answer.
It's not really my point.
I'm making an art installation with 5 "screens" in the space, each one using 35 "dots" (one fixture for one "dot").
When I have created an animation (a scene) for one screen (let's say the first one, using channels 1 to 35), how could I get this scene to play later on the second screen (channels 36 to 70) without writing again the whole scene ?
Because I have a lot of scenes, with a lot of steps ...
I was thinking of something like a code or macro transforming 1 in 36, 2 in 37, 3 in 38, and so on.
Any idea ?

so if you do a color effect with that matrix, if you duplicate the scenes and then on the second scene update the selected fixtures for the next matrix, a little red FX button will appear in the top right of the 2D selection window, when you press it the pattern will update to the new fixture selection. Or you can select all of them and select another FX using greyscale to blackout the unwanted fixtures in a sequential order.

Hi !
Your idea of using an effect instead of a scene seems promising !
I'll let you know if I'm able to do it this way :-)
Thanks again !
