Help! 1 and 2 bar fade in/out

Hi, just started learning Daslight 4 and I just cant figure out how to do this:

Simple fade in/out that lasts 1 or 2 bars with any given BPM.

I know you can jump steps with BPM but thats not really a smooth fade if I have 4 steps as beats in a bar

So I am trying to do basic fade in that I can control with tap tempo and so that the duration of the fade is 1 or 2 bars, Only way I know how to do this is with 4 steps (for 1 bar) or 8 steps (for 2 bar) and setting the triggering to step on BPM but the problems is that then it just jumps thru values, so is there anyway so it transitions smoothly thru these values?
