Fade out problem

Post by Sanman »

Hi!

04 september version the fade out does not work normaly. I have to switch all channels to HTP to make the fade out to work. LTP or auto mode it does not fade out.

Also most of the channels cannot be switched to auto. The will be marked as OFF...

Hi Sanman,

I've tested here in the office and can't seem to replicate the problem.

If you;'re still having problems PM me your showfile and I can check the show.

i have the same problems with the "Fade Out"
it doesn't work correct.

Example:
for the test I created 3 scenes in a group to control a RGB Led Par.

DMX channels of the PAR:
ch1 - dim
ch2 - red
ch3 - green
ch4 - blue

the scenes:
scene 1 = 1/dim 100% + 2/red 100%
scene 2 = 1/dim 100% + 2/green 100%
scene 3 = 1/dim 100% + 2/blue 100%

for each scene i set the "Fade In" and "Fade Out" - time in the editor to 00m02s00, release=group

- if i click a random scene-button in Live-Mode, the programmed scene fades in.
- if i click the same scene button again, the scene fades out

that works, but:

- if i click on a scene button and change to an other scene, the current scene jump to 0 and the new scene fades in.

if i set all faders from the RGB-PAR in the Live-Mode to HTP, the fade out works, if i click on the different scene-buttons.

but:

next friday i have a show with 50+ scenes. i want to run the show by using shortcuts (like "up" and "Down") for "next" and "previous".
If i press the shortcuts, the fade out doesn't work, and it doesn't matter if i use HTP, LTP or Auto.

Fade in works, but if i click the shortcut for "next" the current scene jump to 0 while the new scene fades in.

i use the new DVC3 software 06.November 2015 with the DVC3 Gold Interface

the "Fade Out" problem with the "next" shortcut already exist in the software version from April, but the "Fade Out" works without any problems if I use the mouse and click on the scene-buttons

Hi Datec,

Thanks for the showfile and video, looking at your show I think the problem with the faders is happening because some of the channels in your scenes are set to off.

If the channels are set to off then they are ignored and this creates the jumping when you select another scene.

If you want the faders to work properly when changing scenes then you will need to set the channels to On (DMX 0) rather than Off.

I have tested it works okay for me here in the office with this set-up. I will email you your updated showfile for reference. Hope that helps.
